About the Juror

Duane Rieder has been a successful advertising photographer for over twenty years. His career began while in art school, and his business officially opened in 1986.

In that time span, he has worked not only for local Pittsburgh-based clients, but national and international clients as well. It has allowed him to purchase and renovate Engine House No. 25, an historic landmark located in the Lawrenceville section of Pittsburgh. This hundred-year-old firehouse was converted into a working 12,000 square-foot photography studio and the home of the Roberto Clemente Museum, for which he is the Director.

He has created images for clients such as United Airlines, The Discovery Channel, ESPN, Animal Planet, TLC, DeWalt power tools, Nike/Foot Locker, Hawaiian Telcom, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Nationwide Insurance, Mellon Bank, The Pittsburgh Steelers, The Pittsburgh Pirates, GQ magazine, Bayer Corporation, Vintage Books, and Highmark Blue Cross.

About the Exhibition

We are all interconnected to the world around us and it is the connections in life that bring us together. Whether an emotional relationship of personal intimacy or physical linkages that binds, a connection is something that joins two or more things. In this exhibition, members of the Coastal Camera Club explore this theme of connectedness.
