Executive Director, Rehoboth Art League

The Rehoboth Art League, a membership-based arts organization and exhibition center, seeks candidates for an Executive Director.  The mission of the Art League is to provide arts education, promote and encourage artists, maintain and enhance its permanent collection, and provide collaboration among organizations.  Founded in 1938, the Art League is located on an historic 3 acre campus in Henlopen Acres, Delaware, featuring the Homestead, an 18th century farmhouse registered on the National Historic Trust.  The League offers art classes, various outreach programs, and a dozen or more exhibits each year.

The Executive Director provides overall leadership, direction, and management of the Rehoboth Art League’s projects, programs and operations, including staff, volunteers, finances, curatorial, educational and outreach activities, public relations, membership, fund raising, and grant writing.

We seek candidates with at least five years experience in staff and financial management, a demonstrated ability to build strong community relationships, success in developing and implementing funding strategies, experience working in partnership with a nonprofit board, and the ability to bring an entrepreneurial approach to leading the Art League.

Education in arts management or fine art preferred; experience with responsibility for art and culture programming and education desired.  An appreciation for the arts is essential.
