Friday-Sunday, January
14 - 16, 2011
Friday, 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm Saturday & Sunday, 9:30 am- 4:00 pm
Take a creative break this winter and join us for an intensive 2 ½ day hands-on workshop with potter Bill Van Gilder in the new and improved RAL clay studio!
“We’ll make useful pots – some thrown, some hand built – some common, some curious. The projects are designed to expand our making skills and gain an understanding of the true, practical elements used to make well designed functional pots. Large and small triangular colanders, storage jars, soup tureens and ladles, spouted oil bottles and oval lidded casseroles are some of the pots on which we’ll focus”.
This will be a hands on “making only” workshop and is designed for all skill levels, from beginners to advanced. Wheel-thrown pots will make up the majority of the demos and making projects, with several challenging hand built projects described, demonstrated and made throughout the weekend.
