Pastel
is a fascinating medium, with
easy techniques quickly learned.
Although
projects will begin using
simple shapes, the workshop
will then offer more challenging
subject matter geared to the
students interest. Since the
color is mixed on the paper,
not on a palette, basic color
mixing principles will be
important. Alternative grounds
will be discussed. Other information
includes a buying guide, storing
finished work and framing suggestions.
Demo, critiques, and handouts
will also be offered.

texture,
light and shade while learning
to
control line, shape and
form. Demo and critique

the eye to see will improve
your drawing skills and

If
you have never painted and
always wanted to learn or
if you have some experience
but want to further your
knowledge of painting, then
this course is for you.
The course will cover all
the fundamentals of composition,
color and form. Students
will learn how to understand
light and color and how
to apply that to their own
paintings during the class.
Students are taught as a
group, but
will get plenty of one-on-one
instruction as well. Students
will work from still life
and weather permitting,
outdoors. The goal is to
understand how “to see”
the world in a new way
and learn to express that
through oil/acrylic painting. |
