course is designed as a follow
up to the previous Introduction.
While it is not limited to
participants who have taken
Introduction to Ceramics 1,
students should have an understanding
of basic processes involved
in clay work. The same 4 categories
from Introduction 1 will again
be emphasized, but in greater
depth with more challenging
projects. By the end of Introduction
2 students will have knowledge
and experience in a variety
of skills and techniques in
ceramics and be prepared to
independently conceptualize
and complete works in the clay
medium.

technique of Coiling to create
the sculptural or functional
vessel of their choice. The
possibilities are endless when
hand-building! Different methods
of finishing will be covered
from Paddling, Incising, Stamping
and Sprigging. Glazing techniques
will also be covered including
Waxing and Latex resist.

the mechanics of partner
dancing in a social setting.
The class will cover a variety
of dance disciplines: swing,
foxtrot, waltz and Latin
persuasion. Class Members

and resistance, the essential
tools for partner dancing.
Students will gain confidence
and self assurance in a
fun and exciting atmosphere.
You may come as a couple
or a single. Wear leather-soled
shoes.

two day intensive workshop
in clay modeling will focus
on the fundamentals of working
with a water-based clay. A
live model will be used for
the creation of the clay figure.
Students will sculpt from
a single pose. Beginners will
be introduced to sculpting,
with emphasis on technique,
proportions, and expression
and more experienced sculptors
will find the capturing of
a gestural pose challenging.
