A History of Trees and Artistry at the Rehoboth Art League

April 4 through May 4, 2025
Opening Reception: April 4, 2025  (5pm-7pm)

DeWitt Gallery

Our nonprofit organization sits on 3.5+ acres of wooded grounds with mature tree canopy, which has acted as a source of inspiration for artists over the course of many decades. While some choose paints to render tree-filled canvases, other artists capture the landscape with a photograph, and the selection of work here charts an inventory of varieties of trees that have grown here. While the plantings and trees have come and gone on the league’s campus over the years, the role they play in maintaining our property’s historic and magical feeling endures.

In partnership with the state’s Delaware Master Naturalist program, which aims to engage citizens as ambassadors and stewards of Delaware’s natural resources and ecosystems, the Rehoboth Art League acts as a Local Organizing Partner. Master Naturalists in training volunteer their talents on our campus, and have recently installed a native plant demonstration garden, curbed the growth of invasive plants, and mapped our property’s trees—which you can enjoy on a self-guided tour when referring to our Native Keystone Tree Walk brochure.
